KEVLAR versus ARAMID

The term KEVLAR has been embedded in people’s minds for many years.
Unbeknown to many people, ARAMID is the proper name of this fiber.
Several companies around the world produce this material, but the term KEVLAR was given to ARAMID by the DUPONT company.

DUPONT has decided to protect the term KEVLAR and now are the only ones who can officially use the trade name KEVLAR.

Any company that does not buy this product from DUPONT cannot use the term KEVLAR unless; it buys it from DUPONT (at an inflated price), and pays DUPONT 7% of total sales.

Galasport buys their ARAMID from a German company and therefore cannot use the term KEVLAR.
